  1. Information only. Shark Weather shows public data from government and research sources to help you plan a beach visit. It is not a lifeguard, an emergency service or an official warning system.
  2. Ocean conditions change fast. Data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and a beach can be hazardous even when our score looks good. Always follow posted signs, lifeguard instructions and official warnings. In an emergency call 911.
  3. Sharks. Our shark badges show only official advisories we have reviewed. "No official advisory on file" doesn't mean sharks are absent. You enter the ocean at your own risk.
  4. No warranty. The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.
  5. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, the publisher of Shark Weather is not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the site.
  6. Third-party data and links. Data belongs to its providers (NOAA, NWS, CDIP, the State of California and others) and is credited on the About page. Linked sites have their own terms.
  7. Fair use of the site. Please don't overload the site with automated requests.
  8. Changes. We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version.
  9. Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
